  • If you believe that you may have a conflict of interest, whether real or potential, with the respondent physician or the case you are reviewing, please notify the panelist coordinator or field investigator as soon as possible.
  • Remember that even the potential appearance of a conflict of interest constitutes a conflict.
  • Some of the more common conflicts of interest are:
  • a) You are friends or partners with the Respondent.

    b) You are an enemy of the Respondent.

    c) You and the Respondent are economic competitors.

    d) The Respondent is a family member.

    e) The issues in the case evoke a highly emotional reaction resulting in your inability to review the case objectively (i.e. abortion, child abuse, sexual abuse of patients, etc.)
