Rarely an expert panelist must be removed from the Board approved list. Some of the reasons for removal are:
- Failure to adhere to the deadlines required by staff.
- The expert's reports do not fulfill the requirements described in this tutorial.
- Conviction of a crime.
- Experience excessive professional liability claims.
- Loss of hospital privileges for cause.
- Retirement from active practice.
- Violation of the confidentiality agreement.
In addition, if TMB receives a complaint about a panelist and initiates an investigation, the panelist will be not be able to review cases until the investigation is resolved.
