  • Some complaints include just one patient, others include several. There are several conclusions you may reach.

    - You may find the Respondent did a great job, and the standard of care was met. If this is true, please say so. Not every complaint has merit.

    - You may find that for one or more patients, the Respondent did not meet the standard of care. Again, please say so, and include your rationale for this conclusion.

    - You may find that you cannot say if the standard of care was met. Hopefully the Board will give you enough information that this conclusion is rare, but if it is true, please say so.

 

  • On some cases, the question to the Expert panel may include not only individual patient analysis, but a request to examine a series of cases for a pattern of practice. Please include a specific comment as to whether a certain procedure, practice or diagnosis seems to be problematic for a Respondent.
